Ram Reddy's wife Suchitra to contest Palair bypoll

With all the political parties eyeing the Assembly seat of Palair in Khammam district, the Congress is focusing on retaining the seat which is lying vacant due to the demise of its legislator Ram Reddy Venkat Reddy.

Congress now have confirmed the name of Suchitra, the wife of late Ram Reddy Venkat Reddy as the candidate for the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) for Palair by poll. The party is expected to announce the name by Saturday evening. Earlier, reports were doing the rounds that Ram Reddy's brother would be contesting the by-polls. However, now it has been unanimously decided by the family that Suchitra will contest the by poll.

On the other hand, R&B Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao who has been chosen to contest the Palair bypoll for TRS expressed confidence in winning the elections adding that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao would not have fielded him for the elections as the TRS candidate if he didn't have confidence in him. The TRS leader further challenged that he would resign his Minister post if he loses Palair bypoll. Telangana TDP too is jumping to the fore by stating that they would be announcing their decision on the polls on Sunday.
