The written examination of police constables preliminary recruitment test has passed off smoothly in the district on Sunday. The test was conducted by Telangana State Level Police Recruitment Board in collaboration with JNTU-Hyderabad at 109 centres in Jangaon, Narsampet and under Warangal police Commissionerate limits from 2.30 to 5.30 pm.

Warangal: The written examination of police constables preliminary recruitment test has passed off smoothly in the district on Sunday. The test was conducted by Telangana State Level Police Recruitment Board in collaboration with JNTU-Hyderabad at 109 centres in Jangaon, Narsampet and under Warangal police Commissionerate limits from 2.30 to 5.30 pm.

A total of 51 centres were set up at Jangaon and Narsampet under Warangal rural police and 58 centres were set up under Warangal police Commissionerate limits. Superintendent of Police (rural) Ambar Kishor Jha and Commissioner of Police G Sudheer Babu visited the examination centres, inspected arrangements and monitored the conduct of examination.

In all, 65,045 men and women candidates have applied for the test in Warangal, of which 61,039 have appeared for the test. At the district headquarters 35, 337 candidates have appeared for the test while 25,702 candidates appeared at Narsampet and Jangaon. The candidates appearing for the test started arriving at the centres at 1 pm.

In the examination halls the photographs of the candidates were taken and their finger prints were collected through biometric scanners. The police have arranged mini-buses at railway stations and bus stands in the tri-cities to transport the candidates to their respective test centres free of cost. Flexi banners were set up at test centres cautioning the candidates against malpractice during the examination.

In order to assist the candidates the police have also arranged help desks and provided cool drinking water at centres. Police officials at the centres have attested hall tickets of the candidates who have forgotten to get their hall tickets attested by gazetted government official before coming to the centres.

Section 144 was imposed in and around the test centres and photocopying centres in their vicinity were closed down. It might be noted that Commissioner of Police Sudheer Babu and rural SP Jha during last week have conducted several meetings, reviewed the arrangements and initiated measures to avoid any inconvenience to the candidates in appearing for the test.

Additional DCP M Yadaiah, Hanamkonda ACPs P Shoban Kumar, SM Surendranath, B Janardhan, Ravinder Rao and Eashwar Rao accompanied the Police Commissioner. The SP (Rural) has appreciated the police officials for making efforts for the smooth conduct of the test.
