Outlook

We are guilty of many errors and many faults, but our worst crime is abandoning the children, neglecting the foundation of life. Many of the things we need can wait. The child cannot. Right now is the time his bones are being formed, his blood is being made and his senses are being developed. To him, we cannot answer “Tomorrow”. His name is “Today”.

Gabriela Mistral, 1948

Albeit State has achieved good progress in bringing down MMR, IMR, and TFR in these two years, focussing on bringing down IMR across the districts significantly. Identifying Malnutrition and Anaemia are major health issues, especially for children between 0- 5 years. The state government is intensifying its activities under Arogya Lakshmi. In rural areas, as public affordability and private hospitals viability to operate in rural areas is a concern, the government is involving in a big way through up gradation of existing facilities by increasing the number of beds, providing sophisticated equipment and in some districts even planning to set-up new hospitals.

In urban areas, especially in Hyderabad as the density of population is very high, the government is gearing up with the modernisation of the existing hospitals and also encouraging the role of the private sector in a more effective and efficient way, making health services affordable to all.
