Villagers exterminate rabid dogs

​Wanaparthy: A collective effort by villagers at Tadiparti under Gopalpet mandal in Mahbubunagar district has nearly rid the village of dog menace.

The villagers, both young and old, came together to eliminate the street dogs as they ran amuck time and again, biting the people. The street dogs, probably irritated by high temperature, went on a biting spree.

They had not only bit the people, animals but also fatally mauled flocks of sheep. In a concerted action, residents of the t Tadiparti killed 80 dogs and buried them in a ditch on the tank bed.

They heaved a sigh of relief at last. Villagers Sumitra, Sekhar and Sankarayya said there was no alternative except killing the rabid dogs.
