Hyderabad: Alleging that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was behaving arrogantly with corrupt money, Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy called upon the party cadre to launch a movement against the State and Central governments’ fascist and corrupt policies.

Addressing the Youth Congress State Executive meeting held at Gandhi Bhavan here on Thursday, Uttam alleged that the BJP at the Centre and the TRS in the State were trying to control politics with fascist attitude and corrupt money. He called upon the Youth Congress to wage a war against the State and Central governments from bottom level to create awareness among the youth.

He alleged that the Chief Minister behaved arrogantly by not giving appointment to the family members of Ramreddy Venkat Reddy, who tried to request Chandrashekar Rao to extend his support in making the Palair by-election unanimous. He said the people would teach a fitting lesson to the Chief Minister, who was behaving arrogantly by collecting corrupt money.

Uttam suggested the Youth Congress leaders to take up extensive campaign in Palair by-election for the victory of Ramreddy Sucharitha. He advised the Youth Congress leaders to take up campaign in Palair by touching every village in the constituency. The Congress candidate would file nomination papers on April 29 and the campaign would be held from April 29 to May 14.

He asked the Youth Congress activists to seek the support of people against the corrupt TRS government. Uttam said that Ramreddy Venkat Reddy won five times as an MLA and the family would get the sympathy of the people in this election. Finding fault with the BJP government at the Centre, Uttam alleged that the Centre was making baseless allegations against AICC chief Sonia Gandhi in the name of Augusta helicopters.

He asked the Youth Congress activists to counter such baseless allegations. The meeting was held under the presidentship of Youth Congress State president Anil Kumar Yadav. The Youth Congress State observer Harsha Kumar participated in the meeting. Meanwhile, Congress leaders alleged that the TRS celebrated food festivals in the name of plenary when the people of the State were dying due to severe drought.

Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan here on Thursday, Mallu Ravi and Dasoju Sravan asked Chandrashekar Rao to tell why the Roads and Buildings Minister Tummala Nageshwar Rao contested from TDP in 2014 in case the latter was his right hand. They asked the TRS to show their plenary expenditure as election expenditure and made it clear that they would lodge a complaint against the TRS’ violations during the plenary.
