The scorching heat waves have swept Telangana with the death toll rising to 143 on Friday with six more deaths being reported. Due to sun stroke, reports of deaths are continuing to pour in from all over the state.

With a maximum temperature of 42 degrees Celsius being recorded in most of the districts in the state, the heat wave conditions have aggravated and has caused the second successive drought in the state triggering the scarcity of drinking water. Ramagundam was the hottest place with the temperature being recorded at 44.6 degrees on Friday while Hanamkonda recorded 44.3 and 44 in Nalgonda. In Hyderabad, the maximum temperature recorded at 42 degrees.

The district collectors and officials have been directed by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to take preventive measures for the heat wave that are likely to continue for 30 to 45 days and asked them to prepare an action plan for it.
