Hyderabad: Communist Party of India-Telangana State Council has demanded the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to declare entire Telangana state as drought hit state as thousands of labourers are migrating to other places for the livelihood.

CPI Telangana state secretary Chada Venkat Reddy addressed a letter to the Chief Minister on Sunday in this regard. He said that the CPI was setting up ‘Ambali Centers’ across the state. “But the Chief Minister directed Mahabubnagar district collector not to encourage Ambali Centers.
Ambali Centers will send a wrong message that the people of the state are having Ambali as they have no food.

It is learnt that the Chief Minister also directed the same collector not to consider the news coming in the newspapers on sun stroke deaths”, he said. Stating that the Chief Minister’s attitude was seriously objectionable, Chada said that the government won’t supply food more so it was obstructing the CPI, which was supplying Ambali to the poor.

He asked the Chief Minister to arrange free meal centers across the state keeping drought conditions in view. He demanded the government to supply grass to the domestic animals and implement NREGS properly. He suggested the Chief Minister not to resort attacks on Ambali Centers and it was good for the latter to change his attitude while accepting realities and face the challenges efficiently.
