Health Minister Dr Lakshma Reddy has blamed Congress and TDP for unnecessarily politicising the irrigation projects\' issue and stated that they were doing so as they were unable to stomach the progress achieved by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on the irrigation front.
​Mahbubnagar: Health Minister Dr Lakshma Reddy has blamed Congress and TDP for unnecessarily politicising the irrigation projects' issue and stated that they were doing so as they were unable to stomach the progress achieved by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on the irrigation front.
Addressing a press conference at the Government guest house here on Monday, the Minister refuted the Congress and TDP allegations against the Chief Minister and pointed out that the ayacut under the Rajolibanda Diversion Scheme (RDS) had shrunk from 87,000 to 25,000 acres because of the omissions and commissions of the TDP and the Congress party.
At a time when Irrigation Minister Harish Rao was holding parleys with Karnataka government to strike a deal on the RDS project, the Congress and the TDP were out to politicise the issue, he lamented. "The good-for-nothing leaders’ ignored the RDS when in power but chose to criticise the Chief Minister" he said.
