Palair (Khammam): Repeating the same spirit which they displayed in 2014 General Election, voters in large numbers turned up to polling stations to exercise their right of franchise in the by-election to the Palair Assembly constituency on Monday.
Braving the scorching temperature, 89.73 per cent of the total electorate 1,90,351 turned to polling booths. The polling schedule has been extended by an hour till 6 pm due to intense heat wave conditions in the region.
It might be noted here that in 2014 elections, the Palair Assembly constituency had recorded 90.01 per cent of voting, said to be highest among 10 seats in the district.
