Hyderabad: Engineering College Vice-Principal, Chief Examiner, a student and two others have been arrested by the Cyberabad Special Operations Team police on the charge of engaging in malpractice in examinations.

On Monday, the SOT sleuths received a tip-off and raided a house at Imamguda in Hayathnagar and found that a student was writing examination at the home instead of appearing for test at the examination centre.

According to police, G Vineet Goud (21), BTech third year student from Annamacharya Engineering College, had some backlogs and he was supposed to appear for examinations at Narayana Engineering College at Hayathnagar.

Vineet, the police said, had taken the help of a former employee of the Narayana Engineering College, Vinay Goud, to approach Vice-Principal Venkata Krishna and Chief Examiner G Sunil Kumar.

The duo allowed Vineet to write examination at home and demanded Rs 10,000. On Monday, when Vineet was writing examination at his friend Bharath’s house, he was caught red-handed. Bharath (25) was also arrested for aiding Vineet, A hall ticket, and answer booklet with OMR original sheet, nominal roll sheet, attendance sheet, question paper, Rs 7,800 cash and eight mobile phones were seized.
