Telangana Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao faced a backlash from the YSR Congress leaders in the state on Wednesday as they demanded his resignation for his threat of attacks on leaders who interfere with the irrigation projects being constructed by the government.

YSRCP Chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy who is on a three-day fast in Kurnool as a part of the Jala Deeksha said that Harish Rao should answer questions instead of posing threats adding that the Minister who is expected to ensure law and order should not fall down to threatening.

Addressing the media at the YSRCP headquarters at Lotus Pond, party leaders Konda Raghava Reddy and Nalla Surya Prakash demanded a white paper on the allocations for the irrigation projects in Telangana for the past two years.

Stating that the YCP office in Mahbubnagar was attacked, the leaders said that the TRS governance has become like monarchy as the leaders are behaving like the Nizam. Pointing out that the late YSR started 36 irrigation projects for Telangana, out of which, six were completed, nine were under construction and 21 were partially completed, the YSRCP Leaders alleged that all the YSR projects in Telangana could be completed if only Rs 10,000 crore was allotted.
