Mahbubnagar: Directing the revenue department to expedite the land acquisition process and help facilitate the construction of all the major projects in the district, District Collector T K Sridevi called on the officials of various departments to ensure better communication and coordination to expedite the development works in the district on Thursday.

As land acquisition process is a major hurdle that causes the delay in the implementation of development projects, the Collector asked the revenue and other department officials concerned to accelerate the land acquisition so that projects like double bedroom housing scheme, construction of new government offices and other irrigation projects can be taken up in a time-bound manner in the district.

“The revenue officials must coordinate with all the departments and ensure there is no delay in the process of land acquisition for constructing office buildings for the government departments and organisations. At the same time there should not be any delay in the land acquisition of double bedroom housing scheme and irrigation projects.

The officials must coordinate and complete the process on time to meet the government’s targets,” said Dr T K Sridevi, while addressing a revenue durbar meeting at revenue meeting hall in the district.

Referring to people’s complaints at various departments, the Collector strictly warned the officials of housing, revenue and irrigation to look into these issues on a priority basis and resolve them at the earliest. He said that complaints received through the Chief Minister’s office need to be given highest priority and issues must be resolved without delay.

There has been a continuous delay observed in the land acquisition process of National Highway, tourism projects, irrigation projects, railway lines, electrification and energy projects in the district.

Various files relating to these projects have been lying pending for years due to lack of commitment and lackadaisical attitude of various department officials. Referring to these delays, the Collector felt that there is a need to expedite land acquisition and ensure early acceleration of all development works in the district.

Mahbubnagar Joint Collector Ramkishan, Assistant Joint Collector Balaji Ranjit Prasad, District Revenue Officer Bhasker along with others took part in the review meeting.
