District gearing up for Telangana Formation Day fete
The district administration is gearing up for large-scale celebrations marking Telangana State Formation Day on June 2. Participating in a video conference called by the government, chief secretary Rajiv Sharma on Friday, Joint Collector Prashanth J Patil informed that arrangements were being made for celebrating the event at the village and district levels.

He said that distribution of Asara pensions and three acres of land to 100 landless Dalits would take place on the State Formation Day. On June 2 an adult education programme would be launched in the district. It was aimed to achieve 100 percent literacy by September 8.
Municipal Commissioner Sarfaraz Ahmed said that efforts were being made for the beautification of the entire city. The chief secretary asked the district officials to identify about 100 persons to represent the district in the State Formation Day celebrations at the State capital and to conduct blood donation and medical camps.
