Khammam: A day after the counting of Palair by-election in which TRS registered a record win, CPI (M) candidate Pothineni Sudarshan Rao alleged that the State government resorted to gross misuse of power to woo voters. In a party meeting here on Friday, he criticised the TRS for resorting to unethical practices to influence the voters.

“Money power has come to play a key role in this election in addition to the false promises of the ruling party,” Rao alleged, accusing the TRS of stooping to new lows. On the other hand, the CPM supported by the CPI tried to uphold the values of democracy, he asserted. He said the campaign of the CPM was based on values rather than hoodwinking the people with impractical promises like the bourgeois parties did.

“The viewpoint of the Left Parties is not concentric on votes and seats alone,” Rao maintained, stating that their fight against the government will continue until the betterment of the marginalized sections in the society. While thanking the party supporters and workers, he heaped praise on the CPI leaders Puvvada Nageswar Rao, Moulana, Kunamneni Sambasiva Rao and Bagam Hemanth Rao for extensively campaigning for the CPM.

Bhadrachalam MLA Sunnam Rajaiah, Buggaveeti Sarala, Ponnam Venkateswar Rao, Nunna Nageswar Rao, Kasani Ailaiah, Macha Venkateswarlu, AJ Ramesh, Kalyanam Venkateswar Rao, Annavarapu Kanakaiah, Yerra Srikanth, Bathula Lenin, Bonthu Rambabu, Bandi Ramesh, Merugu Satyanarayana, Annavarapu Satyanarayana, Tata Bhaskar Rao, Kataboina Nageswar Rao, Yalamanchi Ravi Kumar and Yerra Srinivas Rao were present.
