Armoor revenue division created

Nizamabad: The first ever revenue division in Telangana state, the Armoor revenue division came into existence officially from Saturday. The State government, having announced on December 1 last year to create a new revenue division with Armoor as headquarters, fulfilled its promise made to the people.

The revenue division has been created mainly due to the efforts put in by Armoor legislator Asannagari Jeevan Reddy and MP of Nizamabad Kalwakuntla Kavita. It was created by including Armoor town, Armoor, Nandipet and Makloor mandals from Armoor constituency and Balkonda, Bheemgal, Morthaad, Kammarpalli and Velpur mandals from Balkonda constituency.

Various divisional government departments located in Nizamabad will relocate to Armoor. The people need not travel long distances to reach their revenue division headquarters to get their problems solved. First the office of the RDO will be shifted on a war-footing and located in the MPDO’s office here for the time being. The divisional panchayat raj office has already been shifted to Armoor. Till appointment of full-scale officials, Armoor revenue divisional officers will be put on in-charge duty.

Deputy Chief Minister Mahmood Ali, MP of Nizamabad K Kavita and Armoor MLA Jeevan Reddy will formally inaugurate the Armoor Revenue division. By May 25, several officials belonging to Armoor would be appointed as full scale officials or in-charge officials.

Expressing his happiness over the creation of the new revenue division, Armoor MLA Jeevan Reddy said that the 30-year-dream of Armoor people has been fulfilled. He said he was deeply indebted to Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for keeping his electoral promise to the people. He specially thanked Kavitha for her help in the creation of the Armoor revenue division. The new revenue division would be very useful to both officials and people for solving people’s problems, he added.

State Principal Secretary BR Meena on Friday issued GO No. 75 creating new revenue division of Armoor as there are no objections received from people for creation of the same.

Divisional offices of Electricity department, police department and BSNL have already been relocated to Armoor so far. The residents of Kammarpalli, Bheemgal and Morthad need not travel long distances to reach the revenue divisional headquarters.

The Armoor region is known for land disputes. The establishment of revenue division here will help resolve the land disputes quickly. The agriculturally and politically significant Armoor division will be on the high road to development once the revenue division has been created.

As part of juggling of various mandals to create the revenue division, the Naveepeta mandal, which has been included in Nizamabad revenue division, has been moved to Bodhan revenue division. The mandals left with the Nizamabad revenue division are Nizamabad urban, Nizamabad rural, Dichpally, Dharpalli, Zakranpalli and Sirikonda mandals.

The demand for Armoor revenue division has been there for the last 25 years. Though 11 new revenue divisions have been created towards the fag end of the united Andhra Pradesh, Armoor did not figure in them.

Armoor region has earned nationwide reputation adopting latest agriculture methods and ranks second in the country in turmeric cultivation. Red jowar is widely cultivated here. Ankapur village in Armoor mandal is known for agriculture prosperity and famous seed companies have their offices in Ankapur, which became a model village in the country. The farmers of the village are ahead in achieving higher yield with minimum application of water.

Political awareness of the region is very high as politicians of this area like A Rajaram and S Santosh Reddy were famous finance ministers whereas Yeleti Mahipal Reddy a forest minister, former PCC president D Srinivasa and former Speaker Suresh Reddy hail from here.
