Nalgonda: CLP leader K Jana Reddy advised the government to complete the formation of Assembly constituencies first before creating new districts in a hurry in the State. Speaking to the media in the town on Saturday, Jana reminded the TRS leaders that the then TDP government headed by late NT Rama Rao after due consultations with all parties and the general public took sufficient time of one year to come to a conclusion over the formation of Mandal in 1983-84.

Formation of new districts in the new State is acceptable, but at the same time it should not create anxiety among the public about their future and about their territories, he added. He suggested to the government to focus on increasing the constituencies as promised in the AP State’s Reorganisation Act before announcing the names of new districts in the hurry as a sop to public on the eve of State Formation Day.

He further advised the government to take the opinion of public organisations, intellectuals and if possible conduct referendum on the formation of new districts. Speaking on the occasion, MP Gutha Sukhender Reddy advised the government to form new districts in such a way as not to inconvenience the people and they should be useful in all aspects.

Miryalguda MLA Bhaskar Rao demanded the government either to form Miryalguda district separately or merge it in Nalgonda district, instead of the proposed Suryapeta district.
