Shivani Dogra takes charge as Curator of Nehru zoo park
Shivani Dogra, IFS and Deputy Curator of Forests (DCF), took charge as the Curator of Nehru Zoological Park from V V L Subhadra Devi on Saturday.
Hyderabad: Shivani Dogra, IFS and Deputy Curator of Forests (DCF), took charge as the Curator of Nehru Zoological Park from V V L Subhadra Devi on Saturday.
This is the second time that a curator has been changed within a span of six months at the Nehru Zoological Park. Shivani Dogra belongs to IFS, 2007 batch and has worked as Divisional Forest Officer/DCF in Vizag, Rajampet, Kadapa and Medak Districts before her transfer as Curator to Nehru Zoological Park, Hyderabad.
Of late, the zoo has been in the news for all the wrong reasons such as animals escaping from their enclosures and visitors entering into prohibited areas thereby affecting both their safety as well as that of the animals.
Increasing the visitor count to the zoo and focusing on the safety aspects will obviously be Shivani Dogra’s priorities. Suffice to say that she has her task cut out.
