After inspecting the slum areas in Old Bazaar and other places in Badepally, Minister for Health and Family Welfare C Laxma Reddy informed that the State government was committed to fulfill all its promises. Apart from constructing the Palamur Ranga Reddy Lift Irrigation project which will provide drinking and irrigation water to the district, the government was also committed to implementing the double bedroom scheme, the Minister said. “In the first phase, about 400 double bedrooms are sanctioned to Jadcherla.
However, we will construct about 1000 double bedrooms in the second phase. Our aim is to make the urban areas clean and slum free. Unlike in the earlier regimes, the double bedroom scheme will restore the self respect of the poor people,” informed the
Minister.
In Mahbubnagar district headquarters, the government had sanctioned 2300 double bedroom houses and they had already started the construction process, he said. The Minister, along with District Collector Dr TK Sridevi, inspected the slum areas of Old Bazaar, Sriramnagar, Gundappa Compound and other slum colonies in Jadcherla mandal.
While referring to the unemployment scene in the district, the Minister said the government was organising free training camps at L&T Construction Academy at the Polepally SEZ for skill development and training to the youth. Apart from this the women candidates were also being provided training with the help of Self Help groups in areas of garment making, food processing and marketing.
The Minister said that educated and unemployed youth should not waste their time by waiting for government jobs, and must improve their skills and opt for other job opportunities. He informed that the district administration was organising a mega Job Mela on June 4 this year at Jadcherla for the unemployed youth.
Talking on the occasion, District Collector Dr TK Sridevi said, “Youth must utilise all financial and self help schemes provided by the government. Apart from providing the financial support for self employment, the government is also giving free training for skill development combined with entrepreneurial support.”
