Hyderabad: Stung by the unbridled defections from the party, Telangana Congress has decided to stage dharnas in front of those who will desert the party in future. The party also decided to bring to the notice of the Chief Minister, the Home Minister and the DGP if any ruling party leader blackmailed any Congress leader using police.

Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan along with party leaders Dr Sravan, Chirumarthi Lingaiah and Bollu Kishan, Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) vice-president Dr Mallu Ravi said he was the in-charge of the Nalgonda district Congress party and if any ruling party leader threatened the Congress leaders using police, they would lodge a complaint with the Chief Minister, the Home Minister and the DGP.

He said the Congress had decided to stage dharnas in front of the residences of the leaders, who won the election on the plank of Congress party symbol, but deserted the party. The party cadre would organise rallies, dharnas and burn effigies of the leaders, who would leave the party, he said adding the party would take up these activities as a movement.

Condemning the Union Minister Banadaru Dattatreya’s statement that the Congress was dead in the State, Ravi said the Congress would come to power in 2019 by winning the elections.

Finding fault with Chief Minister
K Chandrashekar Rao for giving interviews in some section of the media saying that the political corruption was 100 percent eradicated, Ravi asked Chandrashekar Rao whether giving Minister post to TDP MLA Talasani Srinivas Yadav was not a political corruption. He also asked the Chief Minister to tell whether giving Rajya Sabha seat to the Congress leader D Srinvias who joined the TRS was not a political corruption. He said that the political corruption during the TRS’ two-year rule increased to 200 percent.

He made it clear that the Congress would wage a war in case the TRS government closed schools in the name of rationalisation. Sravan demanded that the Chief Minister bring the post under the limits of Lokayukta and said that then only one could believe that there was no political corruption in the State. He also demanded that Chandrashekar Rao come for debate on the political corruption if the latter was confident on his own statement.
