Man sets father, self on fire

Adilabad: Fed up of helping his paralytic father, a man sets his father on fire and later sets himself ablaze. The incident took place in Kothur of Nennela mandal in the district on Tuesday night. Sankar (70) of Kothur village has two sons – Mariah and Lakshman (30). Mariah is living separately while the younger son, along with his family, is staying with his father.

After his mother’s death, Lakshman has been assisting his paralytic father since six years. On Tuesday night, the blind-drunk Lakshman questioning his father as how many days he has to do service to him, poured kerosene on Sankar and set him ablaze. Later, he poured kerosene on himself and put fire. After hearing their cries, the neighbours doused the fire and shifted them to Mancherial government hospital. The duo were out of danger now.
