Big B as KCR?

Hyderabad: Newcomer Vishwan, who assisted noted actor Uttej in the writing of Ravi Teja-starrer ‘Bengal Tiger’, is gearing up to make a hagiographic film on Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR). Titled ‘Chandiyagam’, the movie will be produced by Erroju Venkata Chary.

A source close to the development confirmed, “The film will focus primarily on the methods KCR adopted to fight for the Telangana dream. The world media has forgotten how he assembled all the Telanganites for the cause of Statehood. They’ve always seen it from a political angle. The film however, will be a reflection of how he managed to bring people together and convince 500 Parliamentarians in favour of Telangana.”

The source added that the film will also deal with how KCR motivated himself time and again to not yield in his fight for the self-determination of 5 crore Telanganites. “He followed ancient dharma and practiced yoga and meditation on a regular basis not just to motivate himself but also to influence the people.

The film will document all these happenings in the backdrop of Telangana formation,” said the source. He further said that the director was keen on Amitabh Bachchan playing the role of KCR. “When you are narrating the story of a powerful leader, a powerful actor helps, right?” the source said, hoping that Bachchan too will have a weakness for a good script like all great artistes.

“It’s needless to say KCR is a powerful character, right?” affirmed the source. However, the director is yet to obtain permission from KCR for the film. “Our producer Venkata Chary is a relative of S Madhusudhana Chary, Speaker of the Telangana Assembly, who, as everyone knows, is very close to KCR. We hope to get the required consent very soon so that we can approach Bachchan for the part,” the source concluded.
