Civic staff told to colour eidgahs, mosques for Ramzan

Nizamabad: District Collector Dr Yogita Rana on Saturday directed the municipal staff to clean the surrounding areas of local idgas and mosque in connection with the Ramzan festival. She issued the orders after visiting the Quilla and Madina Eidgah along with Superintendent of Police Vishwaprasad and Mayor Akula Sujata.

The Collector asked the civic staff to colour the compound walls and gates of the idgas and local mosque and arrange their illumination. She directed Municipal Commissioner Nageswar Rao to take up repairs of nearby roads and improve water supply. Dr Rana wanted bore-wells to be dug up near the Eidgah and water storage containers arranged with the assistance of the Minorities Finance Corporation.

She stressed that there should not be any power failure during the Ramzan prayers. The Collector asked the Eidgah Protection Committee to plant 50,000 saplings with tree guards after preparing an action plan and submitting the proposal. She suggested that a person be appointed to water the saplings and take care of them for some months.

Among those present were Deputy Mayor Fayoom, Quilla Darga Committee president Md Afzaluddin, SE Saroja Devi, Tahsildar Rajender, Health Inspector Ferozuddin.
