Farmers protest against Mallanna Sagar, NIMZ

Farmers and leaders of farmers’ organisations began an indefinite relay hunger strike outside the District Collectorate in Sangareddy on Monday, in protest against losing their lands because of Mallanna Sagar, National Industries and Manufacturing Zone (NIMZ) and other projects being undertaken by displacing farmers from their livelihood.
Sangareddy: Farmers and leaders of farmers’ organisations began an indefinite relay hunger strike outside the District Collectorate in Sangareddy on Monday, in protest against losing their lands because of Mallanna Sagar, National Industries and Manufacturing Zone (NIMZ) and other projects being undertaken by displacing farmers from their livelihood.
The members of the joint action committee demanded that the GO 123 be cancelled and Land Acquisition Act of 2013 be implemented for acquiring lands for all projects.
All India Kisan Sabha (AIKS) President Sarampalli Malla Reddy and Justice Chandra Kumar of the Rythu JAC offered support to the fasting activists.
