TSRTC trade union polls on July 19
The elections of Telangana State Road Transport Corporation trade union would be held on July 19. The labour commissioner held the first round of meeting with the workers union leaders here on Monday.
Hyderabad: The elections of Telangana State Road Transport Corporation trade union would be held on July 19. The labour commissioner held the first round of meeting with the workers union leaders here on Monday. As per the discussion, the draft voters list would be published on June 13 and objections would be accepted before June 17. The final list of voters would be published on June 25.
The next meeting of the union leaders would be on June 30 to decide on the allocation of symbol to the unions and the number of unions in the poll fray. It was decided to hold elections on July 19. Polling would take place from 5 am to 6 pm and postal ballots would be accepted on
July 25 and 26.
Speaking to reporters here, Employees Union general secretary K Raji Reddy said that his union had strived to fight for the rights of the workers. The union achieved 44 per cent fitment, which is more than government employees. Contract employees were regularised, employment was provided to the children of deceased employees, which was pending for the last 10 years.
