SPDCL bags prestigious award
The State Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (SPDCL) was honored with the prestigious National Award in the category of ‘DISCOM – Promotion / Facilitation’ by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, for promoting Roof Top Solar Power Projects.
Hyderabad: The State Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (SPDCL) was honored with the prestigious National Award in the category of ‘DISCOM – Promotion / Facilitation’ by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, for promoting Roof Top Solar Power Projects.
Managing Director of SPDCL G Raghuma Reddy received the award from Union Minister of State for Power, Coal and New and Renewable Energy Piyush Goyal, on Tuesday.
Based on the provisions/incentives of the State Solar Power Policy 2015, SPDCL composed a unique Request for Selection (RFS) document for procurement of solar power on a long- term basis through competitive biddings, which attracted various firms, consortiums and foreign companies.
Also, the company held many pre-bid conferences with the prospective developers to help them overcome their difficulties and create a positive, responsive environment on both sides.
In order to ensure participation of a large number of domestic electricity consumers’ in Solar Power Generation, SPDCL adopted a single window policy under the Solar Roof Top Net Metering scheme.
So far, 1,084 applications were registered under net metering for a capacity of 26.70 MW out of which 586 with a capacity of 9.18 MW connected to the grid under Solar Roof Top Net Metering Scheme.
