Warangal: The TRS leadership was becoming increasingly arrogant and intolerant towards public criticism and it was not a healthy trend in a democracy said BJP senior leader T Rajeshwar Rao.

Speaking to the media in Hanamkonda town on Wednesday, Rajeshwara Rao faulted the TRS ministers and leaders for going en masse against the TJAC chairman Prof.

M Kodandaram. He described Telangana protagonist K Jayashanker as champion and Kodandaram as co-champion of the Statehood cause.

Through the Telangana Praja Vedika, personalities like Jayashanker Kodandaram, Konda Laxman Bapuji and B Janardhan Rao have laid the foundation for the latest phase of the movement during 1996-97.

At that time there was no TRS and K Chandrashekar Rao was enjoying power in the TDP regime, he added.

All those commenting against the T-JAC leader were nowhere in the Statehood movement at that time. The leaders like Kadiam Srihari,Talasani Srinivas Yadav and Tummala Nageshwar Rao do not have any moral right to criticise him he said.

Prior to formation of the Telangana State and afterwards, Kodandaram extended support to TRS in the elections. At that time, the TRS leadership hailed him, but now he has become an enemy just for asking the State government to mend its ways.

There was an urgent need for all sections of the people to come together to fight against the misrule of the TRS, Rajeshwar Rao added.
It was Jayashanker and Kodandaram who boosted morale of KCR when he was struck by electoral defeats in 2002 GHMC polls and in 2009 assembly elections.

The Chief Minister has shut the mouths of personalities like Allam Narayana Ghanta Chakrapani and Prof.

T Papi Reddy by offering them jobs, said a former MLA M Satyanarayana Reddy.

KCR tried to adopt the same tactic in the case of Kodandaram by offering an MP seat so as to make sit silently. The TRS leadership has long been disconcerted with Kodandaram as he distanced himself from the party leadership, he added.

The BJP leader M Dharma Rao sought to know the contribution of Deputy Chief Minister K Srihari in the Statehood movement and how he was qualified to comment against the T-JAC leader.

The Chief Minister was acting like an heir of Nizams of Hyderabad and it was wrong, he said.
The party leaders demanded the Chief Minister to respond to the issue and issue show cause notices to all the Ministers and leaders who lashed out at Kodandaram.

Otherwise the people in the State would not keep quiet, they warned.
