Warangal: It has been 18 months since the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao promised to provide jobs to the candidates qualified in DSC-1998 exam but the promise still remains unfulfilled.

The candidates in the four districts of Karimnagar Warangal, Khammam and Nalgonda are shuttling between Hyderabad and their district headquarters every day pursuing the case. The officials concerned are the cause of delay while the Chief Minister was in favour of providing jobs the candidates lamented.

The Andhra Pradesh Administrative Tribunal and High Court delivered judgments in 2009 and 2011 respectively in favour of the qualified persons and directed the then governments to issue appointment orders to the petitioners.

Prior to it in 2005, a committee of five IAS officials during the regime of the then Chief Minister, the late YS Rajashekara Reddy made the same promise.

In October 2014, Supreme Court too asked Chief Secretary of the Telangana State Government as to why the orders of lower courts were not implemented in connection with the case.

The State government sought the Advocate General's opinion in the case and it went in favour of the candidates. The file passed through the legal department, followed by the finance department and now it has landed in the office of Chief Secretary, one of the candidates K Srinivas said.

The Chief Minister and his deputy K Srihari, who also holds the Education portfolio made repeated promises to do justice to the qualified teachers of DSC 1998 but to no avail, lamented Prabhakar Reddy a candidate qualified in the DSC.
“It was the worst recruitment exam the country ever witnessed,” he added.

Speaking to The Hans India on Wednesday, one of the candidates C Saidachary complained that officials lacking concern and were intentionally delaying to settle the matter. ‘Some of the qualified candidates are even attempting suicides unable to bear the delay’
The case is now pending with Supreme Court and final disposal is due on July 12.

The crux of the matter is that who is going to rescue us is it the government or the Apex Court's verdict. We are being crushed in between legal proceedings and government’s apathy’, they grieved.

The Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister should take the initiative to address the issue on humanitarian grounds and issue appointment orders to the qualified candidates M Ramana Murthy appealed.

Those who committed irregularities still remain untouched by the law, while the candidates were left to suffer and remain voiceless except making appeals for justice.

Officials strategically plotting to dilute the issue in the pretext of difficulty in filling up large number of posts, the qualified candidates allege.
