Hyderabad: After eradicating 1,116 vulnerable garbage points (VGPs), the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has now decided to clear all open urination points (OUPs) in the city by August 15.

GHMC Commissioner B Janardhan Reddy has instructed all zonal and deputy commissioners to coordinate with the sanitation workers in this regard.

The Commissioner interacted with the sanitation workers in his chambers on Friday and enquired about their working conditions and problems being faced by them in clearing the garbage in the city limits.

Appreciating their work, the Commissioner instructed them to clear all OUPs in the city limits. Giving similar instructions to the officials, he set a deadline for August 15 and asked the officials to come up with an action plan.

The zonal and deputy commissioners explained to the Commissioner about the process of identifying the toilets. They also detailed their plans to outsource the maintenance works of the toilets in ‘Kapra Circle.’
