Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) disciplinary committee on Saturday issued show cause notices to two senior leaders -- MP Palvai Govardhan Reddy and former government whip in the united Andhra Pradesh A Mohan -- for making objectionable comments against the party leadership recently. The disciplinary committee sought reply by June 17.

TPCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy, who returned Hyderabad from USA on Friday night, convened an emergency meeting with the available party leaders. The statements made by Palvai Govardhan against CLP leader K Jana Reddy and Mohan’s comments on Karimangar district party leadership were discussed in detail in the meeting attended by disciplinary committee members.

The party took strong exception to the ‘defiant’ attitude of the two leaders and asked them to reply to the notices. The disciplinary committee also discussed the fresh political development taking place in the party following speculation that Nalgonda MP Gutha Sukhender Reddy would join TRS soon.

Taking serious note of another senior leader Komatireddy Venkat Reddy’s open defiance against TPCC chief, the party decided to lodge a complaint with AICC high command. Reddy, who was served a show cause notice, had failed to respond. A decision to expel Reddy from the party would be taken only after consulting the party high command, a senior leader said.
