Hyderabad: A textile factory employee from Bangalore and his two accomplices Hyderabad were arrested in a joint operation by Nallakunta and task force police on Sunday.

Police recovered 45 tolas of gold, half kg silver and other materials all worth Rs 18 lakh from the accused. Acting on a tip-off, police apprehended notorious burglar T Shiva Kumar alias Nandu alias Vamshi (27), a native of Anantapur.

Shiva Kumar was wanted by city police in 12 burglaries. He was arrested by the city police in 2015 for committing 17 offences. After he was released from jail, he committed 12 offences including seven in Nallakunta, said task force police.

At the age of nine, Shiva ran away from his home in East Kodipally and came to city. An NGO rehabilitated him and joined in a school as a boarder. After completing schooling in 2005, he reunited with his family.

The poor condition of his family had forced him to join as a driver in city, but he could not send adequate money to his parents,” said Task Force DCP B Limba Reddy.

Shiva wanted easy and quick money to support family and also to meet his vices. He started with theft of rods, manhole covers and also burgled several houses.

On releasing from jail in 2015, he moved to Bangalore and got employed at a textile factory. Every month Shiva visited Hyderabad. He burgled houses located near railway stations and sold the stolen property to Vali Pasha (45), a gold polisher from Chilkalguda and Ram Prasad (25), labourer from Nagarkurnool,” said the DCP.
