Mahbubnagar: Minister for Panchayat Raj and Rural development Jupally Krishna Rao, who is on a three-day “Projectula Bata” tour from Saturday, expressed his confidence that the State government would complete the prestigious Palamuru Ranga Reddy Lift Irrigation (PRRLI) scheme in the next three years and provide water to 8 lakh acres in the district.

“At present our focus is to ensure that all the existing lift irrigation project works in the district such as Kalwakurthy, Nettampad, Bheema and Koilsagar are completed on time.

We have directed the officials to complete the pending works as early as possible and supply water to 4.5 lakh acres under these projects,” said the Minister while interacting with the media. As part of his inspection tour in the district, the Minister visited all the major lift irrigation projects and work sites.

“All the works on projects are nearing completion. We are expecting the pending works to be completed in the next one month and water to be released by end of July,” said Krishna Rao.

The Minister on Monday took part in the Haritha Haaram programme at Devarkadra Market yard and later on proceeded to inspect the railway crossing works of Koilsagar canal project.

While addressing a gathering of farmers, the Minister assured the farmers that those whose lands were acquired under the railway crossing canal project would be adequately compensated and there was no for them to be worried.
