Warangal: Three persons were killed on the spot after hit by TSRTC bus at Narsimhapuram near Tadwai in the district on Wednesday.

The deceased were identified as Appala Ravi (28), his co-brother Payyavula Yakaiah (35) and their relative P Madhu (23) of Tadwai. They were returning to home after attending ‘Vana Bhojanam’ in the nearby forest area.

The trio was riding on a motor cycle when the RTC bus going to Hanamkonda from Eturnagaram hit them. Hundreds of villagers, who learnt about the incident, rushed to the spot and in fit of rage pelted stones at the bus and manhandled driver and conductor of the bus.

Later the villagers staged a dharna on Warangal-Bhupalapatnam national highway causing heavy traffic jam on the road. Eturnagaram CI Ravichandra, Tadwai SI Karunakar and staff rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.

Tadwai police registered a case and taken the driver into the custody.
Deputy Chief Minister K Srihari visited accidents victims’ family members, while returning from Eturnagaram after attending the ITDA general body meeting on the day and consoled them. He announced Rs 5 lakh ex-gratia to each victim’s family.
