Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Wednesday made an explosive revelation that conspiracies were hatched in New Delhi to impose President’s rule in Telangana despite people giving the TRS a clear mandate in the 2014 elections.

KCR alleged that efforts had been made by political parties in Delhi and AP to prevent the TRS from forming government despite public support.

He pointed out that Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu went on record stating that the TRS government would fall and the TDP would come to power before 2019 and also went on to say that Andhra, Telangana would be one state again.

The Chief Minister was speaking during the joining of Congress leaders, including MP Gutha Sukhender Reddy, G Vivek, G Vinod, MLA Bhaskar Rao, CPI MLA Ravinder Kumar Naik and others into the TRS at Telangana Bhavan on Wednesday.

The TRS chief revealed that MIM party leader Asaduddin Owaisi had telephoned him and informed him that conspiracies were being hatched to destabilise the TRS government, and also pledged support to his government.

He said the people of Telangana were the bosses of the TRS and asserted that his party would win the 2019 elections also.

Brushing aside allegations of poaching MLAs and MPs by his party, KCR questioned how it was wrong today and not wrong during YS Rajasekhara Reddy’s rule.

He lashed out at Congress Legislature Party leader K Jana Reddy and said, “If they do it (poach other party leaders) they call it a marriage of convenience and if we do it, they call depravity. (Meeru cheste adi samsaram… memu cheste vyabhicharama?).”

He reminded that when former chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy government took away 10 of the 16 MLAs of the TRS, there was no reaction from Congress leaders. They poached elected MP of TRS Vijaya Shanti and Mancherial MLA G Aravinda Reddy, he added.

“We are not maligning the image of the state Jana Reddy garu. Congress party’s image may be maligned, but Telangana state is going ahead brilliantly,” said KCR.

He reiterated that the joining of leaders cannot be taken lightly and said people of the state consider the TRS as a protective shield to Telangana.

He said that this would provide political stability, thereby achieving economic stability. He further said that many good works were being taken up by the government and people were supporting him in the form of votes to the party.

KCR said that former MP G Vivek joined the Congress unintentionally and because of the pressure from his father G Venkataswamy, who wanted them to be in the Congress.

“Vivek was in touch with me even after joining the Congress. We have been talking for the last one year. He came to my house and said he would join the TRS any time,” said KCR.

He also said that he was unaware that CPI MLA Ravindra Kumar was also joining. “I did not know about Ravindra Kumar’s joining until he himself announced it at a press conference,” said the TRS chief.

He reminded that during his visit to the Sriramsagar project site along with G Sukhender Reddy in 1996, he had said Telangana would not develop under the Andhra rulers and opined that an agitation would come for separate state and if his health permitted, he would lead the agitation.

The Chief Minister said the Telangana state was moving ahead with 27 per cent economic growth rate and soon it would be number one in the country.

“There is political stability and quest for doing work. There are 100 per cent chances that poverty elimination can be achieved by 2019,” he said and added that most of the irrigation project works would be completed by 2019.
