Telangana officials claimed that nearly 75 SOs, out of the 240 working in the Secretariat, hailed from Andhra Pradesh. The Kamalnathan Committee had already identified these officials based on their place of birth and suggested to the State government to send them to AP.
Demand speedy division of employees between the two States
Hyderabad: Telangana Secretariat employees in the rank of ASOs and SOs (Assistant Section Officers and Section Officers) on Wednesday held protest demonstrations in the State Secretariat demanding speeding up of the division of employees between the two states and repatriate all officials with Andhra Pradesh nativity to their home state without any delay.
Telangana officials claimed that nearly 75 SOs, out of the 240 working in the Secretariat, hailed from Andhra Pradesh. The Kamalnathan Committee had already identified these officials based on their place of birth and suggested to the State government to send them to AP.
In the ASO cadre, 75 employees out of the 525, with Telangana nativity were working in AP Secretariat. The committee also asked the AP government to relieve them and instructed the TS government to take them in to service.
TNGO leader G Sravan Kumar said that the delay in the division of employees marred the prospects of their promotions pending for years. Many of the ASOs and SOs are waiting for upgradation of their ranks in the respective departments. The employees would not get promotions unless the division of employees is completed.
Mild tension prevailed at A, B and D Blocks when the agitating employees conducted a rally and shouted ‘Go back AP employees’ slogans before they staged a dharna in front of Samatha Block-the office of the Chief Minister.
