Warangal: A fourth standard student, called S Vignesh Arjun has performed a unique feat of reciting ‘Vemana Shatakam’ (one hundred poems written by Vemana) in shortest time.

He performed this feat at a programme held at Raja Raja Narendra Andhra Bhasha Nilayam in Hanamkonda on Sunday. The student is studying at Mandal Praja Parishad School at Nachinapalli village of Duggondi mandal in the district.

Though the target set for reciting the hundred poems was six minutes, the boy completed the recital in just 5.45 minutes. The eight-year-old student said he has been practicing for the past several months to perform the feat.

The Telugu Book of Records coordinator, Keerthy Satish Kumar, has recorded the proceedings and presented the certificate to the student.

Speaking on the occasion, he appreciated the student and said the feat performed by the student Arjun was unique. The students’ mother Suram Lakshmi, his uncle Ch Venkat and the Bhasha Nilayam officials were present.
