Now, it is the extraordinary tall and huge national flag at Sanjeevaiah Park that has turned out to be a hot spot for selfie lovers.  After hoisting the second tallest flag on the second anniversary of Telangana State Formation Day, the number of visitors to the park has increased. 

Hyderabad: A new selfie point in the city has been drawing huge crowds every day. Earlier, it was the Buddha statue in the middle of Hussainsagar.

Now, it is the extraordinary tall and huge national flag at Sanjeevaiah Park that has turned out to be a hot spot for selfie lovers.
After hoisting the second tallest flag on the second anniversary of Telangana State Formation Day, the number of visitors to the park has increased.

The flag stands 88 meters tall and measures 108 X 72 feet. Nearly 1,600 people are turning up on weekdays and it is over 2,000 on weekends. Earlier, there were nearly 100 visitors in the park on any given day.

Srinivas Raju, the ticket issuer at the park, said, “Ever since the national flag has been hoisted, the number of visitors to the park has increased tremendously.

The park has become lively as large number of families, students and couples come down to take selfies with the flag. The flag is so huge that it is visible from any point in and around Hussainsagar Lake.”

B Abhinay Reddy, a techie, who visited the park along with his family, said his children were very eager to see the huge flag and get a good picture ever since they got to know about it.

K Ashritha, a visitor who came along with her friends after several years, said the park has changed a lot, particularly after setting up the tallest national flag and also Rose Garden.

Not only Indians, but the national flag is also attracting foreign tourists. A foreign tourist from London, J Mathews, who visited the park on Sunday, said he had seen such a huge national flag for the first time.

Besides the national flag, the Rose Garden at Sanjeevaiah Park is also another major selfie point for tourists here.
