Army closes Shivalayam road aburptly

Hyderabad: The residents of Safilguda had a rude shock on Wednesday as Amy jawans stopped vehicular traffic on Shivalayam temple road. People going towards Trimulgherry and beyond go through the road as it is a shortcut. It is a common practice to stop traffic for a few hours at times, but this is the first time that the road had been made out of bounds for people for the entire day.

B T Srinivasan, General Secretary, United Federation of Residents Welfare Association (UFRWA), said, “A team would be meeting the Local Army authority to request for reopening the road.” Raghuveeran, a resident of Anandbagh, said the State government is already in talks with the Army authorities.
