Municipal Administration Minister K T Rama Rao on Wednesday called on nonagenarian economist B P R Vittal, whose work Telangana surplus–a case study lent support to the movement for Telangana.
Hyderabad: Municipal Administration Minister K T Rama Rao on Wednesday called on nonagenarian economist B P R Vittal, whose work Telangana surplus–a case study lent support to the movement for Telangana.
The Minister visited Vittal’s residence in Banjara Hills on Wednesday and enquired about the latter’s health. He enquired about Vittal’s routine and was awe-struck at the latter’s passion for reading and writing even at this age. He lauded Vittal for his simple lifestyle and for being a role model for others.
Referring to discussions he had with Telangana protagonist Prof Jayashankar and other Telangana leaders, Rama Rao said Vittal’s work had figured prominently in the discussions. Both of them went nostalgic about their association with Prof Jayashankar.
