​Hyderabad: The government on Thursday decided to bifurcate the Cyberabad commissionerate into Cyberabad East and Cyberabad West.

Sources said that the GO was issued by the government following a proposal by DGP Anurag Sharma to sanction more commissionerates, keeping in view the increasing population and crime rate. The new commissionerates cover parts of Cyberabad, Rangareddy, Medak, Nalgonda and Mahabubnagar districts.

Apart from the existing staff, the government has sanctioned an additional 346 policemen, 135 ministerial staff, 2,000 home guards and 41 outsourcing posts to run the new commissionerates.

Cyberabad East would consists of three zones, Bhongir, Malkajgiri, LB Nagar and seven divisors, Bhongir, Choutuppal, Malkajgiri, Kushaiguda, Vanasthalipuram, LB Nagar and Ibrahimpatnam, along with three central crime stations at Bhongir, Malkajgiri and LB Nagar. A women’s police station would be stationed at Saroornagar that falls under Cyberabad East.

Cyberabad West would consist of Bala Nagar, Madhapur and Shamshabad zones, with eight divisors namely Balanagar, Pahadishareef, Madhapur, Kukatpally, Miyapur, Shamshabad, Rajendranagar and Shadnagar.

Three central crime stations in Cyberabad West would be established at Balanagar, Madhapur and Shamshabad, and the existing women’s police station in the IT Corridor would be the only women’s police station in Cyberabad West commissionerate.

The government is yet to take a decision on allotting senior officials to the new commissionerates and a decision would be taken soon, said sources.
