The government has agreed to join the Centre’s Ujwal DISCOM Assurance Yojana (UDAY) scheme following a request by Union Energy Minister Piyush Goyal who called on Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) at the camp office on Thursday. 

Hyderabad: The government has agreed to join the Centre’s Ujwal DISCOM Assurance Yojana (UDAY) scheme following a request by Union Energy Minister Piyush Goyal who called on Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) at the camp office on Thursday.

KCR asked the Union Minister to send officials to discuss the modalities and arrive at a MoU. The CM briefed the Union Minister about the government’s measures to overcome power problems in the State and make it a power-surplus state.

He briefed the Union Minister on the energy scenario and the power generation plants that are coming up in Telangana.The Union Minister agreed to allocate funds and sufficient coal to the thermal power plants in the State under the Deen Dayal Scheme.
