Local youth spreads Nalgonda fame globally
Battepu Raju, presently the captain of Indian team is participating in the ongoing Inline hockey 2016 world championship in Italy. The tournament took off on June 11 and concludes on June 24. Raju is the only player from Telangana, who got berth in the Indian inline hockey team.

Vangari Pranai Raj is a writer for Telugu Wikipedia while Battepu Raju is Inline (roller) hockey player. Both belong to families with poor economic back ground.
Battepu Raju, presently the captain of Indian team is participating in the ongoing Inline hockey 2016 world championship in Italy. The tournament took off on June 11 and concludes on June 24. Raju is the only player from Telangana, who got berth in the Indian inline hockey team.
Raju, son of a farmer, has completed schooling in Mothkur and completed graduation from a college in Secunderabad. Presently he is working as roller skating coach in a private school in Hyderabad. With the support of his coach Gundu Ajay, Raju started his sports career in 2007 and participated in several tournaments and secured medals. He is happy for becoming the captain of the Indian inline hockey team.
On the Other hand, Vangari Pranai Raj has been writing essays in Telugu Wikipedia on Telangana cultures, traditions and other topics for the last three years and got invitation from the prestigious Wikipedia organisation to participate in their international conference to be held from June 22 to 26 in Italy.
Speaking to The Hans India, writer Pranai Raj said he couldn’t find the required information on theatre arts in Telugu in internet for preparing M Phil thesis. Since then, he has been writing essays on Telangana cultures, traditions and other matters in Telugu version of Wikipedia.
He thanked Telangana government digital media director Konathala Pradeep for his encouragement to write more articles on topics related to Telangana.
Furthermore, Pranai Raj also posting articles in Telugu on Facebook under the name ‘Today in the history’ to promote and introduce Wikipedia to Telugu net surfers and also giving training to amateurs.
Informing that he was the general secretary to 10 and 11 anniversary meetings of Telugu Wikipedia, he added participation in previous Wikipedia international meeting held in Bangalore and 10th anniversary of Bengal Wikipedia gave lot of exposure.
He felt honoured to get the invitation to the four-day Wikipedia’s international conference in Italy, starting from June 22.
