The Akkanna Madanna Temple committee will organise the 68th Bonalu Mahankali Bonalu Jatara from July 22 to August 1 at the historical Akkanna Madanna temple.

​Hyderabad: The Akkanna Madanna Temple committee will organise the 68th Bonalu Mahankali Bonalu Jatara from July 22 to August 1 at the historical Akkanna Madanna temple.

Committee member G Niranjan said a series of programmes would be organised during the Ashada Masam. He said ‘samoohika kumkumarchana’ would be held July 8 and also on July 15, 22, 29 and August 5.

The 11-day festival would be starting with the Maha Abhishekam of Ammavaru on July 22. Mahankali Ammavari Ghatam would be taken out in the form of a procession from Kashi Vishwanath temple to Akkanna Madanna temple premises. Rudra Trishati Homam would be performed on July 25 at 6 am.

There would be Maa Bhagwai Jagran on July 26 from 8 pm, Ankurarpanam on July 27, photo exhibition on the same evening. Chandi Havanam would be organised on July 30 at 12 noon. The main Bonalu festival would be on July 31 and rangam on August 1.

Niranjan urged the government to organise a meeting with the temple committees for making arrangements for festival.
