Khammam: No one can stop the irrigation projects proposed by the State government, Minister for Roads and Buildings Tummala Nageswar Rao said.

Addressing a press conference along with Health Minister C Laxma Reddy at Bhadrachalam on Thursday, Tummala found fault with the Congress for creating ruckus over the State-proposed irrigation projects.

“TPCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy and working president Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka are trying to create misconception among the people by resorting to false propaganda about the irrigation projects,” Tummala alleged, expressing confidence that people have confidence in the TRS government.

He came down heavily on BJP leader Nagam Janardhan Reddy stating that he was trying to create hurdles to irrigation projects in Mahabubnagar district. Tummala accused Nagam of conspiring to stop the Palamuru irrigation project by accompanying an advocate to the project site.

It’s shame on his part to come in the way of development of his native district Mahabubanagr, he added.
Earlier, Health Minister C Laxma Reddy inspected the Bhadrachalam Area Hospital. Speaking to media persons, he said that government has plans to establish cancer screening centres in all district headquarters.

He said that patients who diagnosed with cancer in the first and second stages will be treated at district headquarters and those found in advanced stages will be treated at Hyderabad. Medicines will be supplied free of cost to the patients, he added. He said that all the DM&HOs have been put on high alert to tackle the endemics in view the rainy season.

Assuring that all the vacant posts in medical and health department will be filled soon, Reddy said: “All the defunct
104 vehicles will be restored in a week.”

He instructed the officials to extend medical services to the tribal communities living in Chintoor, VR Puram and Kunavaram mandals though they belong to Andhra Pradesh.
