Nizamabad: District in-charge Collector A Ravinder Reddy directed the land survey department officials to take steps immediately and resolve land survey disputes or issues on a priority basis.

Addressing the concerned officials at a review meeting held in the Survey and Measurements (Land) Department here on Friday, he said that 6,192 applications were received for survey and among these, 2706 were resolved. 3051 were rejected and another 428 cases were still pending in the department.

The in-charge Collector questioned the officials of the Survey and Measurements department as to why so many cases were pending in Nizamabad district while in other bigger districts, all the issues were resolved. He told them to speed up the works. He said that the basic responsibility of the officials was to look into the requests made by farmers and demarcate their lands immediately.

There were no other important issues before the surveyors than this, he added. In-charge Collector said that the survey inspectors before setting out to the villages should pass on the information to the local surveyor and the village revenue officers .

He said that there should not be any slackness in the discharge of their responsibilities and they should meet the deadlines without fail. Before conducting the survey, notices should be sent to the farmers concerned, and if the issues were pending in the court, the surveyors should take the advice of Tahsildars, RDOs and Assistant directors.

Assistant Director of Surveys Kishan Rao, Deputy survey officers and staff were present.
