Yazdanis framed: Kin

​Hyderabad: Stating that police arrested both his brothers due to some misunderstanding, Mohammed Ishaq Yazdani, the third in the Yazdani brothers, on Thursday claimed that both his brothers were innocent.

The accused brothers, Mohammed Ibrahim Yazdani (30) and Mohammed Iliyas Yazdani (22), are residents of Chhatta Bazaar in Talab Katta under Hussaini Alam police station limits.

The NIA said the arrested accused were conspiring to carry out terror attacks at various places in city and were about to manufacture explosives and carry out their plan at the earliest

The duo along with Habeeb Mohammed alias Sir (32) of Yousuf Gulshan Colony, Abdullah Bin Ahmed Al Amoodi alias Fahad (31) of Charminar and Muzaffar Hussain Rizwan alias Rizwan (29) of Talab Katta were arrested by the National Investigation Agency during raids conducted on Wednesday in the Old City.

The NIA said the arrested accused were conspiring to carry out attacks at various places in city and were about to manufacture explosives and carry out their plan at the earliest. Ishaq Yazdani, who is working in a mosque for a nominal salary, was in deep shock on learning that two of his brothers were arrested on charges of criminal conspiracy.

Ishaq said his brothers were picked up by the police based on rumours. “They are innocent and will never do anything harmful against the country. It is all based on rumours,” Yazdani told The Hans India. The cash seized by the police belonged to Ibrahim’s parents-in-law and they had kept it with Ibrahim for safe custody, said Ishaq.

A guardian of the Yazdanis said, “The Yazdanis are four brothers - Ismail, Ibrahim, Ishaq and Iliyas. Their parents died in 1998. Since then relatives and friends are their world. Ismail is abroad and he is coming to India on learning about the arrest of Iliyas and Ibrahim.”

Another friend of the Yazdani brothers said, “They (Ibrahim and Iliyas) can never enter into such conspiracy. All the arrested persons hail from one colony and they used to meet at a mosque during prayers and became friends. They used to meet and while away time. Is that an offense?”

The NIA claimed that Ibrahim Yazdani and Habeeb, the prime suspects, were very active in the independent module that was formed about a year ago. They were also in direct contact with some unknown members of the Islamic State (IS). But, Yazdani’s friends and relatives knew only that Ibrahim was running an online business and had meagre earnings.

“Ibrahim was running an online website and doing some business. Ishaq works in a mosque for Rs 8,000 and Iliyas is a student. After their parents died, they are leading a simple life,” claimed their relatives.

Ishaq also said about 20 armed men entered into their house on Wednesday morning, saying that they were investigating and took away the laptop and a tab.
