Khammam: It’s time to get to get down to business seriously and focus on health issues faced by the people living in the Agency area, Health Minister C Laxma Reddy said.

Speaking at the Bhadrachalam Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA) meeting at the Agriculture College in Aswaraopet on Friday, the Minister emphasised the need for concerted effort between the people’s representatives and the State departments concerned to address the health problems of the tribal communities.

“The endemics rose to alarming heights in five mandals of the ITDA, Utnoor in Adilabad district. It took nearly two months for the ministry to address the health issues faced by the Adivasis,” Reddy said, stressing for the initiation of preventive measures in Bhadrachalam Agency.

He said that all the area hospitals in the State will be provided with modern infrastructure and required staff so that to avoid hiccups to patients.

Reddy asked the health officials and the people representatives to prepare a report if there are any shortcomings in the services extended by the area hospitals.

Minister for Roads and Buildings Tummala Nageswara Rao directed the officials to take utmost care for the comfort of pregnant women, especially arranging beds for them Bhadrachalam MLA Sunnam Rajaiah urged the health minister to set up a primary health care centre in Rajupet and appointment of Arogya Mitra workers in Ahram schools.

Khammam MLA Puvvada Ajay Kumar urged the government to take measures on large scale to control malaria in the district.

MP Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, legislators Koram Kanakaiah, Payam Venkateswarlu, Sandra Venkata Veeraiah and Banoth Madan Lal were among others present.
