Hyderabad: The terror module busted in Hyderabad was almost in its finishing stage to carry out bombings in Hyderabad, confirmed the National Investigation Agency on Saturday. During questioning of the five IS suspects, arrested in the joint raids by the NIA and the Hyderabad City Police, the agency extracted a few vital information about bombings plan.

Speaking to The Hans India, a source said, “There were confirmed inputs about the suspects and their activities. Busting the module has really saved a lot. They almost did it.” Mohammed Ibrahim Yazdani alias Ibbu, Habeeb Mohammed alias Sir, Mohammed Ilyas Yazdani, Abdullah Bin Ahmed Al Amoodi alias Fahad and Muzaffar Hussain Rizwan, were arrested from various parts of Old City and were taken into custody for investigation.

Two arrested persons – Ibrahim Yazdani and Iliyas Yazdani are brothers, while Habeeb and Fahad are relatives. One of them attempted to go to Syria via Bangladesh, said NIA in a statement.

The suspects told the agency that they were in search of safe havens on the outskirts of Hyderabad to make and test bombs so that nobody could get a hint of it. They also told the investigators that they were in process of identifying the shelters to hide after bombing.

“They (suspects) were scouting for hideouts nearby Hyderabad, for assembling the bombs and also for safe shelter after committing the bomb attack. The conspirators had divided portfolios among themselves for carrying out their objectives,” the NIA said.

The agency said that the accused were using chat and email platforms for communicating amongst themselves as well as the IS (Islamic State) handler. They had visited other places outside Hyderabad for procurement of explosive precursor chemicals and firearms, the agency said.

“The conspirators had money transactions from Middle East countries on several occasions through hawala as well as regular money transfer channels, and the source of these transactions are highly suspicious and investigation into this is in progress,” said NIA. They had also entered into a joint pledge owing allegiance to the Islamic State and its commander Baghdadi.

“One of them told them that the pledge had been conveyed to Baghdadi,” the investigators said. The role of the other suspects is being examined. A large no of exhibit seized are being sent for forensic examination. The agency also wanted to take the accused to Maharashtra and Rajasthan to extract their contacts and also their sources of funding.
