Devaruppula (Warangal): CPI national general secretary Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy accused the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao of forgetting the sacrifices made by martyrs of Telangana armed struggle against the erstwhile Nizam.

Before coming to power the TRS leadership used to praise the sacrifices made by martyrs like Doddi Komaraiah but, was now neglecting them. It has become a practice for those in power.

The leaders seem to fear backlash from Muslim community if they honour the armed struggle and those lost their lives in fighting the Rajakar forces of Nizam’s regime. But the leaders’ foreboding was just a myth.

There were many Muslims like Magdoom Mohiuddin and Shaik Bandagi in the forefront in fighting the Nizams. It was sad that the sacrifices by communists, who strived to liberate Telangana, were not recognised, he lamented.

Sudhakar Reddy has on Monday inaugurated Doddi Komaraiah memorial building constructed by the CPI at Kadavendi village of Devaruppula mandal in the district, marking the latter’s 70th death anniversary.

Addressing the gathering, he recalled the sacrifices made by Doddi Komaraiah and others. Even if the parties like BJP distort their sacrifices they would remain in the hearts of the people, he said.

Sudhakar Reddy demanded the government implementation of the Land Reforms Act while posing, why the government was purchasing the lands for developmental needs instead of taking possession of surplus, assigned lands and government lands .
