Detroit to host first ever Telangana convention
If it was Chicago last week, it is now Detroit which is gearing for the first ever American Telangana Convention starting from July 8. All theVIPs and delegates who were conspicuous by their presence at Chicago started descending at this automobile city.

Telangana Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy and TRS MP and Telangana Jagrutihi Chairperson Kavitha and a host of politicians and artistes are already in town.
Preparations are afoot at Novi city in Detroit which is hosting the Telangana convention. The three day event will be inaugurated by Ch Vidyasagar Rao, Maharashtra Governor. This is the first biggest ever Telangana Convention after the formation of Telangana State in America. Though there was convention at Dallas last month, it was on small scale.
Like Chicago convention, where American Telugu Association (ATA) was quite impressive as it drew huge number of Telugus from all over US because of its silver jubilee celebrations coinciding with long holiday weekend ( Saturday to Monday -being American Independence Day) , organisers of Telangana convention are leaving no stone unturned to mobilise a large number of Telugus regardless of the region to make the first convention a grand success. The Telangana association was formed in March this year to give separate identity for the Telugus from Telangana region.
Vinod Kuknoor, Co -convenor of the Telangana convention at Detroit, told TheHans India that massive arrangements have been made as more than 7,000 are expected to attend A galaxy of Telugu film stars are expected here on Saturday and Sunday to woo the Telugus here , he added.
More than 50 cultural programmes are being organised by the artists of both the regions to showcase Telangana culture. However, the highlight of the meet will be Bonalu and Bathukaumma festivals which will be conducted on large scale for the first time in Detroit organised by Telangana Jagruthi Chairperson Kavitha and Rasiymayi Balkishan.
Explaining the objective of the association, the Co-convenor said that iy will strive to channel the energies and entrepreneurship of Telanganites living in the United States to create a prosperous ‘Bangaru Telangana'.and partner with Telangana govt and conduct seminars across the United States to promote the brand image of 'Hyderabad' and attract potential business investments to the state of Telangana.
