Warangal: District Congress president N Rajender Reddy has been elected as the honorary president of TSRTC Employee’s Union and assumed charge on Wednesday.

Marking the occasion, the TSRTCEU affiliated to All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC) and National Federation of Indian Road Transport Workers (NFIRTW) has organised a programme at Congress Bhavan to felicitate Rajender Reddy.

Speaking on the occasion, Rajender Reddy expressed pleasure and thanked the RTC workers for elected him as the honorary president of the Employees Union. He promised to make committed efforts to address the problems being faced by the workers.

Rajender Reddy alleged that the Chief Minister, K Chandrashekar Rao, who promised to release the dues related to pay scale revision on Ugadi, has failed to do so.

Similarly he assured to grant paid leave for 27-day strike by RTC workers during Sakala Janula Samme but neglected it.
During the previous Congress regime in 2005, motor vehicle tax was waived on district and city services to support the RTC.

Similarly the services of 24, 577 contract workers were regularised in 2013. During its two years rule, the TRS government has done nothing for the benefit of the workers, he complained.
